Your chakras are interconnected with the tones of the universe: these are called solfeggio tones. They represent the basis pitch of any sound known to man. There are seven main solfeggio frequencies that relate to each corresponding main chakra. These tones can be used in meditation, played whilst working, or even whilst going about other daily duties.
Vibration and balance is central to everything in the universe. Your body and all matter exist at different rates of vibration and have their own resonant frequencies. Therefore, sound and vibration play a fundamental role in your life by affecting physical, mental and spiritual levels of your human being. Below are the specific frequencies that stimulate and rebalance each chakra energy wheel. All of the frequencies can be found on the YUSA YouTube channel.
Some people can feel overloaded if they listen to more than 60 to 90 minutes of binaural beats in 1 day, with a rare few that can experience overload in as little as 10 minutes. During day or morning meditations, if you need to return to focus quickly, it can be best to finish a program with an Alpha track. If you have trouble with sleeping at night, it may be good to use just the Alpha and Gamma meditation during the day and morning.
Root Chakra (Red):
UT – 396 Hz: Liberating Guilt and Fear
This frequency liberates the energy, and it has beneficial effects on feelings of guilt. It cleanses the feelings of guilt, which often represent one of the basic obstacles to realisation, enabling achievement of goals in the most direct way. The ‘UT’ tone releases you from the feeling of guilt and fear by bringing down the defence mechanisms. The frequency of 396 Hz searches out hidden blockages, subconscious negative beliefs and ideas that have led to your present situations.
Sacral Chakra (Orange):
RE – 417 Hz: Undoing Situations & Facilitating Change
The next main tone from the solfeggio scale produces energy to bring about change. This frequency cleanses traumatic experiences and clears destructive influences of past events. When speaking of cellular processes, tone ‘RE’ encourages the cell and its functions in an optimal way. The frequency of 417 Hz puts you in touch with an inexhaustible source of energy that allows you to change your life.
Solar Plexus Chakra (Yellow):
MI – 528 Hz: Transformation & Miracles (DNA Repair)
Tone ‘MI’ is used to return human DNA to its original, perfect state. This frequency brings transformation and miracles into your life. The process of DNA reparation is followed by beneficial effects – increased amount of life energy, clarity of mind, awareness, awakened or activated creativity and ecstatic states such deep inner peace, dance and celebration. Tone ‘Mi’ activates your imagination, intention and intuition to operate for your highest and best purpose.
Heart Chakra (Green):
FA – 639 Hz: Connecting/Relationships
Another frequency from the sacred solfeggio scale, it enables creation of harmonious community and harmonious interpersonal relationships. Tone ‘Fa’ can be used for dealing with relationships problems – those in family, between partners or friends or social problems. When talking about cellular processes, 639 Hz frequency can be used to encourage the cell to communicate with its environment. This ancient solfeggio frequency enhances communication, understanding, tolerance and love.
Throat Chakra (Blue):
SOL – 741 Hz: Awakening Intuition
It cleans the cell (‘Solve polluti’) from the toxins. Frequent use of 741 Hz leads to a healthier, simpler life and to changes in diet towards foods that are not poisoned by various kinds of toxins. Tone ‘Sol’ cleans the cell from different kinds of electromagnetic radiation. Another application of this sound frequency is solving problems of any nature. The fifth frequency of the solfeggio scale will also lead you into the power of self-expression, which results in a pure and stable life.
3rd Eye Chakra (Indigo):
LA – 852 Hz: Returning to Spiritual Order
Tone ‘La’ is linked to your ability to see through the illusions of your life, such as the hidden agendas of people, places and things. This frequency can be used as means for opening a person up for communication with the all-embracing spirit. It raises awareness and lets you return to spiritual order. Regarding cellular processes, 852 Hz enables the cell to transform itself into a system of higher level.
Crown Chakra (Violet):
TI – 963 Hz: Solfeggio Higher-Frequency Body
This tone awakens any system to its original, perfect state. It is connected with the light and all-embracing spirit and enables the experience of returning to oneness. This frequency reconnects you with the spirit or the non-vibrational energies of the spiritual world. It will enable you to experience oneness, your true nature.
The Universal Sound, the Tone of Om/Aum
As the entire makeup of the universe is based on frequencies, tones and sounds, it is right to say that everything in creation, whether it be a planet, human, or animal, holds its own very unique frequency. In Buddhist and Hindu traditions, the mantra of OM is considered the primordial tone of the universe, the very vibration that forms the foundational basis of all things.
The tone Om resonates to the frequency of 136.1Hz, the frequency of the earth year (when covered digitally), lying between C and C# in Western tuning. Om or Aum is the sacred syllable, omnipotent, omnipresent and the source of all manifested existence. It runs through all life and permeates your breath/prana.
According to the Mandukya Upanishad[i], ‘Om is the one eternal syllable of which all that exists. The past, the present and the future are all included in this one sound and all that exists beyond the three forms of time is also implied within it’. It is not a word but more of an intonation, similar to music, holding an ability to transcend age, race and culture. The word Aum is constructed by three Sanskrit letters, aa, au and ma, which when combined together produce the sound Om, absolute reality, that which encompasses the three states of waking, dreaming and deep sleep, represented by Aum. Repetition of this simple mantra is a prayer in itself; this sound permeates and resonates deeply throughout the body, penetrating the centre of your being/soul.
Chanting Ommmmmmm delivers peace, harmony and bliss after around 15 minutes. You create within yourself a vibration that attunes in sympathy with the cosmic vibration and you then start thinking universally. Mind moves between the opposites of silence and sound, balancing out the left and right hemispheres of the brain. Here there is no thought, only stillness. You embrace the moment of trance, a place where intellect and mind are transcended whilst you embrace the infinite self in a moment of realisation—this is the power of Om.
A very powerful and healing Om mantra you can listen to on the YUSA YouTube channel is called Mahamrityunjaya mantra(maha-mrityun-jaya); it is one of the more potent of the ancient Sanskrit mantras. Mahamrityunjaya is a call for enlightenment and is a practice of purifying the karma of the soul at deep levels. It is also said to be very beneficial for mental, emotional and physical health. It is recommended that you listen to this mantra daily for 40 days. The translation for the mantra is below.
Tryambakam: Trya means three. Ambakam means eyes. It means the three eyes of the Absolute, which are the processes of creation, existence and dissolution, as well as the other triads, which are part of Aum. The three ‘eyes’ means experiencing these 3 stages and triads at one time, from the higher, all pervasive vantage point of the Absolute.
Yajamahe: We rejoice in meditation on all of this.
Sugandhim: The word means fragrance. Like a spreading fragrance, all of this permeates the whole of existence, whilst at the same time being that existence.
Pushtivardhanam: The word means that which sustains and nourishes all. Thus, the fragrance that permeates all is the sustainer of all beings, whilst also the essence of all beings.
Urvarukamiva: Urva means big and powerful. Arukam means disease, like the spiritual diseases of ignorance and untruth, which are like the death of Wisdom or Truth.
Bandhanan: The word means bound down, as in bound down to the ignorance and untruth.
Mrityor: The word means ignorance and untruth.
Mukshiya: The word means liberation from the cycles of physical, mental and spiritual death.
Maamritat: The word means please give me rejuvenating nectar, to have this liberation, like the process of severing the cucumber from the creeping vine.
Below is comparison of the similarities between the Sri Yantra mandala and a Tonoscope picture/cymatics of the sound of Om. The Sri Yantra is thousands of years old.
‘Om is not just a sound or vibration. It is not just a symbol. It is the entire cosmos, whatever we can see, touch, hear and feel. Moreover, it is all that is within our perception and all that is beyond our perception. It is the core of our very existence. If you think of Om only as a sound, a technique or a symbol of the Divine, you will miss it altogether. Om is the mysterious cosmic energy that is the substratum of all the things and all the beings of the entire universe. It is an eternal song of the Divine. It is continuously resounding in silence on the background of everything that exists.’~ Amit Ray
Tibetan singing bowls for sound therapy
According to Tibetan oral tradition, the existence of singing bowls dates back to the time of the historical Buddha Shakyamuni (560–480 B.C.). The tradition was brought from India to Tibet, along with the teachings of the Buddha, by the great tantric master Padmasambhava, in the 8th century A.D.
The use of Tibetan bowls produces a powerful form of vibrational sound healing, an effective and proven modality is centred on the use of alternate pure vibrations to reduce stress, create a deep sense of peace, alter consciousness and promote enhanced health and sense of wellbeing.
During your waking state, the Beta brainwave frequency is mainly dominant. The use of sound therapy and listening to Tibetan bowls can entrain your brainwaves into deeper Alpha and Theta frequencies, inducing deep meditative peaceful states, enhanced mental clarity and increased intuition. This type of sound therapy creates a sacred space within a person, encouraging healing from pain, depression and emotional disorders.
The ancient instrument of Tibetan singing bowls is played in a specific rhythmic pattern that creates a sound frequency of Aum or Om. This is the sound wave of perfection affecting your nervous system as it synchronises the hemispheres of the brain. Listening to the frequencies of the bowls also promotes chakra healing and balancing.
The oldest Tibetan bowls have been metallurgical tested by the British Museum of London, where they found the bowls to consist of a 12-metal alloy consisting of silver, nickel, copper, zinc, antimony, tin, lead, cobalt, bismuth, arsenic, cadmium and iron. This is now a lost art, as it appears that this type of quality cannot be reproduced in today’s age.
There is a Tibetan bowl playlist on the YUSA YouTube channel, you can choose to sit and meditate whilst listening to these bowls or simply play the audios when going about other duties. It is recommended that you listen 30 minutes a day to nourish your Mind Body And Spirit. This was excerpted from the YUSA Guide To Balance: Mind Body Spirit which you can view in full HERE where it’s available in physical and digital format.
